Where can I park on campus?
Parking options on campus vary by date.
- On Friday, April 5, validated parking will be available in lots 6, 7, 20, and 36. Overflow parking will be available in lots 17 and 46, as needed.
- Transportation services will have team members onsite to assist with the validation process and any questions that may come up. The open house trolley will make stops at these lots to pick up and drop off participants.
- Please scan this QR code or the code below to access the parking ramps on Friday, April 5. When exiting a parking ramp, you will scan the same QR code on your way out of the garage.
- On Saturday, April 6, and Sunday, April 7, free parking will be available in lots 17, 20, 26, 34, 36, 40, 45, and 60.
There will be a free trolley available each day to assist getting around campus that will do pick-up and drop-off at bus stops near parking locations.
What bus options are available to get to campus?
Service to and from campus is provided by Metro Transit city routes. View Metro Transit routes and schedules.
While on campus, UW campus bus routes 80, 81, 82, and 84 are fare-free for visitors. Find the nearest stop on the interactive campus map. All buses are kneeling buses and are capable of transporting wheelchairs and other mobility equipment.
Is there any shuttle service to campus available?
Community shuttles to campus are available. The shuttles will drop off on campus at Union South (1308 W. Dayton St). The shuttle service back to the community centers will also pick-up at Union South.
South Madison Partnership (SMP) – 2238 S. Park Street. Located in The Village on Park Street.
- Dates: all three days of the Open House (Friday, April 5 – Sunday, April 7)
- First shuttle: 10 a.m. The shuttle will circulate hourly until 4 p.m.
- First shuttle from Union South: 10:30 a.m. The shuttle will run hourly on the 30 minute mark from 10:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
- The last return shuttle of the day picks up at Union South and will leave campus at 4:30 p.m.
Lussier Community Education Center – 55 S. Gammon Road
- Date: Only available on Saturday, April 6
- First shuttle: 10 a.m. The shuttle will circulate hourly until 4 p.m.
- First shuttle from Union South: 10:30 a.m. The shuttle will run hourly on the 30 minute mark from 10:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
- The last return shuttle of the day picks up at Union South and will leave campus at 4:30 p.m.

How can I get around campus?
Free trolley and bus transportation is available to help you travel easily to different locations on campus.
Trolley routes
The trolley will run periodically in a loop. The trolley will make stops near the validated and free parking lots. Keep your eye out for trolley signage along metro bus routes and at metro bus stops.

What road closures and traffic can I expect?
Regent Street will be closed at Park Street in both directions due to a private construction project. Please plan for an alternate route to campus and review the construction impacts map as needed.

What food options are available?
Meal and snack options are available for purchase across campus. Campus dining options are more limited on the weekends – your best bet may be to start at Memorial Union or Union South. Check out dining options and their hours on the Wisconsin Union’s website. Our near-campus neighbors would also be happy to host you, if you are looking for additional options beyond campus.
